Default 78 timing-what will work?

Hey all, I have a 78 that will have a performer and 670 street avenger carb. It has the accell coil, cap,ect on the HEI with new wires and an adjustable vaccuum advance. What will work for timing with these changes?
Thanks

From what I have learned reading this forum and asking questions, it would appear the 36 degs is the optimal timing setting.

shoot for a timing set-up of 12*-14* initial timing and a total timing of 36* with the vacuum hose disconnected from the vacuum can and plugged. Check the timing once you are set with 36* total and test drive to make sure you don't get knowcking or pinging. if you do retard it back 2* at a time until it stops.
Than reconnect the vacuum hose up to to your vacuum can and check your timing again and make sure when it's all in that it doesn't exceed 52*.

You should be good to go
