Default What are your next planned mods?

I'm pretty happy with my setup, but I still want to do the following to my blue/white '68:

1) Lightweight Aerospace Components front brake setup (50+ lbs weight saving)
2) Replacing the welded tranny crossmember with a lightweight Chromoly bolt on crossmember (30+ lbs saving)
3) Tubular Van Steel upper A-arms (8 lbs saving + they look cool)
4) during off season, I might replace my TH200R4 with a TH350 with a 5500 converter
5) maybe a 100 - 150 shot of NOS
6) Lexan windshield and side windows
7) replace my posi with a spool
8) if I'll go with nitrous, I'll need taller tires (29 - 30 inch tall) because I'll run out of gear otherwise..
9) once my bottom end will need rebuilding again (in probably more than a year), I'll replace it with a 422 CI bottom end with 13.5+ :1 compression

Well, that should cover all the mods for the next 2 years...

What about you all? What are your planned mods?

For the 78:
400ci smallblock
Portwork on the AFR heads
Portwork on the intake
Roller cam (218/224 probably)
Carb tune
Wheels/tires

For the 02:
Wheels/tires. Not much. Stock wheels, autocross tires.

Default This will probably change....

1. Rebuild rear suspension (Strut Rods, Trailing Arms and left rear wheel bearing) I just did the right rear.
2. TPI
3. Paint
4. Interior

Oh yeah.... Fix the AC and Heater

I know there will be more.

1) Sandblast and paint Ralleys...install 245/255 BFGs, new trim rings.
2) Restore the interior and convert to black, doing it all myself...Budget style.
3) Re-charge/repair the AC system after I insulate the floor pans.

Drive the $hit out of it!!

Maybe next year I will get the bastard 383 or 408" in there.

Next winter I'll rebuild the front suspension.

I want to build a 8000 rpm 427 big block. Should make 750-800 horse. I'll probally start that in a few months. I also want to change to heim joints on the rear camber rods.

Well,my original front urethane bumper is comming apart fast.I'm thinking about using Corvette Centrals fathers day free shipping to order a new one.I kinda like the 80-82 direct fit style for my 75.I was inspired by the looks of RedBad79.I don't want to put the one piece spoiler on at this point though. And I am not wanting to glass in the seams.

A new blown 540. I have already ordered all the rotating assembly from Eagle with a conservative 1000 hp expectation.

Install my Cam and roller rockers, A/C, and Paint. Starting in a couple of months after it's to hot to drive.

Mostly suspension stuff.

VBP front leaf spring conversion and replace the rear suspension parts. Also 17" rims and tires!

Do planned repairs count as mods?

OK here's the next mod on my list:
Duct tape temporary fuel pressure gauge to my windshield to monitor pressure while driving around and at WOT.

And here's last week's mod:
Had vacuum gauge duct taped to my windshield to monitor vacuum while driving around.

My indecisiveness (sp?) on how to repower my '79 is really biting me in the ***. The exhaust HAS to be replaced before I can get the car saftied, but I'm not sure if I'm going to go 2.5" or 3" because I'm not sure if I'm going to sell the 454 and plop down a respectable small block or just scream out every four-letter word I know as I try installing the 454. I just saw a '74 at a car show with the original 454 with some decent sized headers - holy s**t were they friggin' TIGHT!!!! If I can't sell the 454 for at least CLOSE to what I paid for it's machining and parts within the next month or so, I guess I'll opt out of the small block option, buy stock in Tylenol and see if I can't get that big block in there.

Two years out?

Build a warm 509, keeping it under 650hp
Fab up some kind of 6-link rear and install heims up front.
Maybe a Jeep steering box
Classic Auto Air, so I can enjoy the WHOLE driving season.
New outside bullet mirrors to get the wind out of my eyes
Fabricate some wind wings if the mirrors don't keep the wind out of my eyes.
Basic CD stereo with enough *** to make it listenable on the highway.
