Default Power Steering Brackets

Still working on my Big Block conversion here, and today's hurdle is the power steering brackets. Since I will run with an alternator and power steering system, do I need a special set brackets. And does anyone have any pictures or part numbers of this set up. I found what I think is the correct set up but I'll await some approval on this forum since I've already bought the wrong brackets twice now. I have a short waterpump on the big block and the 'Vette is a '79. Here's what I'm looking at from Corvette Central and I'll appreciate any of the correct guidence I get.

I hope this works as summer is flying by me here.

Thanks so much!

Indy

Indy, Here is a pic of the original brackets used on my 69 and 70 BB cars with PS. The pic is missing a small Z shaped strap bracket illustrated by #12 in the AIM drawing. Hope this helps

Kewl stuff Bullshark,

Can those be bought in a kit form anywhere or are they all separate part numbers? They do look just like the set up from Corvette Central but they don't do it as a kit.

Indy, I don't know of any kit?? These are extra off my brother's old 69vette he turned upside down in a creek back in 74. You may have seen some pics of it that I posted in the past. If you need some or one of these....make me a fair offer and they are yours.

Default Power Steering Kit

I just bought a kit from Zip Corvette, but it has more parts than you need. Ecklers also sells a kit.

They both sell the brackests individually.

After thinking about this, would I find the parts to convert my car over to manual steering . Don't I just need a manual draglink and a manual pitman arm to change things over? Then I'd have less belts robbing power, no drips, and heck even a bigger set of arms!

Default Manual Steering on a BB

I do have manual steering and a 427. On the road it is fine, but parking takes a lot of effort. If you want big arms, this is the way to go.
