Default WEDGE spacer?

My carb sits at a bad angle to jive with my L88 hood. It works, but it's borderline. I've seen 5* and 8* wedge spacers, but I'm hesitant.

See how the gasket around my filter base is unevenly smashed? That's from the "bad" angle.

What's the word? Anybody ever use a wedge spacer?

Do not care for the looks of that wedge, seems it would cause the nuts to not contact the carb base flush unless the washers they provide are also angled

dammitman! LOL. yes it would make the mount nuts contact the plate at an angle, not sure if thats a real problem or not, I would use SS washers under the nuts and NYLOC nuts or something like them to mount with I think.

Hi, if you use the wedge spacer, you can buy a leveling shim, and use it like a washer under the nut. or make your own.

http://www.mcmaster.com/

90845A015
18-8 Stainless Steel Leveling Shim 5/16" Screw Size, 11/32" Hole Dia, 7/8" Square Size
In stock at $8.41 per Pack
This product is sold in Packs of 5

these seem big, but the idea seems right.

Default wedge spacers not for stock cars

The reason intakes are higher on the back is to compensate for the
angle of the engine so the carb will stay level and the fuel floats
will work right. wedge spacers are for racers that have changed the
angle of there motor to help them get there carb back to level.
A level carb is important. mod the base above your carb if you
do not like the fit to the hood.
