Hi,
I guess with all the Edel parts on there then the Edel heads would be the obvious, off the cuff, answer. That's what a lot of people use here, but I wanted to be different. After much reading/asking I decided on a choice between AFR180s & TFS23deg heads. Ruled out iron as I like the idea of losing weight. The AFR heads look good for me because the 180 ports flow the same as a lot of bigger ports on other heads AT the lifts I'm using. Having the same flow, but with a smaller port, should increase low end torque as the gas velocity through the smaller port will be greater than that through a 195cc port in a different head with the same flow numbers (hope I explained that OK?). Also like the TFS heads due to the specs & lots of good things I've read here from people using them. What will make my decision is simple - it's how much cash I have spare at the time!
Both heads apparently don't cause problems with the Headers I'm using. So I've read.....

The best bang-for-your-buck are the Summit Heads. Iron, but only $600. If $$$ is NOT an object, then the above mentioned are good choices...

I went with the above mentioned Summit heads and have been pleased with them. The Summit heads are really made by DART FYI. For 6 bills they are a bargain.

AFR 180 hands down $1300 well spent. Or E-Mail edsred72. I think he is getting rid of some new Pro Toplines that flow real well. He is building a 406 and is going with bigger heads. These would work perfect for your application.

Performer PLUS cam has .420"/.443" lift ... RPM cam has .488"/.510" lift.
You didn't say which you have ... the RPM is way too much for most otherwise stock low-comp, dish-piston motors ... so assume you have the smaller one. If so, suggest a nicely reconditioned set of GM Vortec iron heads and a Professional Products intake P/N 52007 (about $125) fits vortec but otherwise about same height as performer. Head gaskets for iron vortecs use FelPro thin steel shim P/N 1094.
