Are there any benefits or drawbacks to using a racing spark plug vs a "normal" spark plug?
Reason I'm asking is I decided to pull and examine some plugs on the 72 I bought over the winter and found out I am running a racing plug. My car has the NGK R5674 plugs in it. I'm just wondering what possible issues I'm looking at by keeping them in the car. I know the previous owner raced the car now and again which I don't do except for some occasional spirited driving I'm thinking I don't need the racing plugs but the car runs fine and the condition of the plugs when I pulled them suggest that the heat range is correct. Should I keep them, change them out to a non-racing style, or what?
Oh, it is a built motor with about 10.3:1 compression. See sig for details.
Most racing plugs are non resistor. Which means they may cause radio static on your car and others. If you have no problems and they look good on color just run them.

I checked and they are non resistor but I haven't had any problems with static. I guess since everything appears to be working fine with the plugs I should just run them. If it ain't broke, don't fix it
I'm curious, should racing plugs have the same longevity as regular plugs?
