Throwout Beaing?
My 69 350/350 4 speed has developed a "clanging" noise that at first sounded like the fan hitting the shroud. I then noticed that as soon as you start to depress the clutch pedal the noise immediately stops. I even took the fan and fan clutch off to eliminate that variable.
I am assuming it is the throwout bearing - no telling how long it has been since any of that has changed. What recommendations does anyone have for for clutch, pressure plate, etc? Car is all stock and just pleasure driven.

Sounds like your clutch may not be correctly adjusted and your (by-now wrecked) throwout bearing is clattering. I put a Zoom clutch from Summit in my (converted) '70. It's still too new to tell if it's gonna last but I've been happy with it so far....
