Intake manifold height
I am getting ready to purchase a new intake for my 1979 with a stock L48 engine. What my question is which brand, and model will fit under the stock hood? I will be also replacing the exhaust manifolds with a set of headers. Thanks Gary B.

Gary: I'm using an Elderbrock EPS intake with a Holley 670 Street Avenger on my 79. On top I've got a 14" x 2 1/2" air cleaner. I was using a 3" cleaner but need just a little more clearance between the carb and the rear vacuum port so I added a spacer.

I have a Edelbrock performer with the stock quadrajet and I use my stock air cleaner - it works great
