Vinyl replacement on hard tops
INSIDE is easy, really IF you have the complete panels....
cut the old dry viny out with a U knife, set it in the sun to warm it good and proper, making that job easier....carefully strip the padding and vinyl down to the cardboard backing....i'ts like a very heavy egg crate type packing....paper product really....
so when its all naked, try the paper frame fit in the HT.....if not, use some judgement as to how much/where it's warped, wet it down and prop up in sunlight to dry...you gotta soak it good....
let it dry in the position you want, PLUS more against the warp....not in the HT shell.....it may take daze to dry, depending on the temp/hum outdoors in sun....
now the pieces will fit fine.....go to a yard goods store, buy some 1/8 inch foam padding for upholstry, and get some yard goods known as POLAR FLEECE.....or something right next to that at Minnesota Fabrics...type place....stretchy fuzzy nice looking cloth....
3M adhesive the foam, then the cloth and job done...
lastes me about 6 years without any problems at all....
I used black liner....pick your own color...
