seriously though.. we moved a bunch of years ago to a much smaller house. Since me and my siblings had all moved out to college, there was no room in the garage for my baby. Instead of renting a place, we built two block walls and cornered out a section of our warehouse for the vette (family owns a factory). It is very nice to have access to pretty much anything I need. Full machine shop with bridgport, lathe, welders, plasma, nut/bolt assortments, trucks, etc... and yes, multiple forklifts.
I hope you braced across more than one rafter (or ceiling joist, whatever you used).....
Oh Yeah, I used a 10' X 1 1/2 steel pipe going across 8 trusses on 16 centers. Blocked it at the strongest points. More than enough for the 1000 lbs needed.
