Default What the heck are these....

...and where do they go?

Actually, I believe they are some sort of splash shields (L and R) that came off the nose of my 71 when it was disassembled. However, I can't seem to find a good picture of them in the assembly manual.

Any help on reinstalling these would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

They bolt on to the frame just behind the front tire and in front of the firewall. Another way of putting it...
Right side under the aluminum reservoir for the cooling system(if you have one)
Left side under the vacuum reservoir/brake master cylinder

Thanks for the replies.

So does this mean the flat side would bolt to the frame and the curved part would go around the inner fender well? If so, where does that put the side with the weather stripping?

Thanks for taking the time to check this out on you 68!!!

I think this was last of the unknown parts from a disassembly that took place more than 10 years ago. Of course, I'm sure I'll have a lot more questions as the reassembly progresses.

Thanks again for all the feedback!

You are correct they are splash shields and the would go directly in front of your feet if you were sitting in the car. They do not sit flush to the wells and have about a 1 inch offset.

Hope that helps,

Brian
