I have a 1969 350/350 SB. I wanted to order an advance timing kit (springs and weights) to play with my timing curve. I see they divide them by pre 1969 and post 1969. Does my 1969 engine fall into the later category? I'm guessing the later model kit is for the introduction of the 350 engine in 1969, but just wanted to verify.
Mr Gasket kit 925A worked for me with stock weights. Also has a stop bushing for distributor shaft to limit total mechanical. There are springs in kits 927 and 928, too. I got mine at the Napa store on Ogden. Per tuning guru Lars, ditch the kits' weights and stay with cleaned up stock weights. You're basically buying springs and a bushing.
Check your end play on the distributor, too. I bought a shim kit "while I was at it."
Search archives for "advance springs" gives you more info to digest.
