Anyone ever do business with this guy? He has an ebay store and looks to me like a good price for what you get.
I wouldn't know him or his business from a hot rock but I am looking for a good 2004R builder and one out here instead of the west coast would be cool.
IMO, build it yourself, get help if you need it, go to a tranny parts house...they have the expertise and help you may need....as well as ATSG service manuals, which are basically reprints of the GM manuals...
various sites on tranny rebuilding online give many tips and fixes....
I understand the weak point is a 200 dollar input shaft....obviously you will want a shift kit, but I dunno whos.....I have a Superior/Fairbanks shift kit in my 700 here but never been too happy....I"M thinking going back to Gil Youngers' Trans Go for the shift kit, had his kits in 350-400 turbos for decades and never one issue, not one, damn things would last forever....
I have been wanting to get a core for 60 bux, but no time...maybe this week or next....going to 2004r, tired of the operational/reliability BS outta this 700....
Hmm, there is a thought. Never ripped into an auto before tho. Can probly get a decen used unit for a couple hundred$, wit the shift kit, rebuild and all would still be close to $500, bout half of what I can get one done for with a warranty.
what to do...
