Roller Cam Insall Complete
For you guys that followed my threads on HR cam selection and install, I have thanks to give out .
First to GKULL for advice on cam selection. This is like driving a different car. I gave up some low end torque but this cam really gets with it above 3000 rpm. I ran it to 6000 in 2nd gear and it was still pulling hard.
Second to Little Mouse and Motorhead on the tip on the cloyes timing cover. I did have to grind the cover and the water pump to get it to clear but it made set very easy. I like it a lot.
Third to GOSFAST who did not respond but I found advice on a archive search. Isky adjustable guide plates are great. I could never get a perfect rocker alignment with the comp. guide plates on the sportsman heads. With the Isky plates you can get a perfect guide plate alignment.
I put about 100 miles of Interstate driving on it yesterday. In 5th gear turning 3000 rpm I'm doing 95mph, give it about half throttle and it jumps. I think I like it

I'm very interested in which cam you installed. I've been running a Crane solid 238/248 for about 12 years and the old girl needs a change to full roller.
I'm stll on the fence as to whether to install a 396 stroker crank or not.
