well i need to start bleeding my brakes on sunday and i was wanting to know if anyone knows if there is a good thread for a brake bleeding thread? i have all new brakes and lines on the car and did a quick bleed on them when i installed everything on the car over a year ago. everything in the brake system is new accept the one main line from the front to the back. my brake peddle goes to the floor and there is almost no brakes right now so before i go out to the garage this weekend to bleed the brakes i was wanting some advice on bleeding sequence and any other advice for getting good brake feel and stiffness in the brake pedle
Bench bleed master cylinder very very good. Then gravity bleed LF-RF-LR-RR-dont let master go dry.As fluid is flowing tap all lines and fitting and calipers with small brass hammer to dislodge stubborn air bubbles.
Gravity bleed??? You mean it is possible to just crack open the bleeders, keep the MC full of fluid, and gravity will bleed the system for me? Sounds easier than yelling at someone to pump the brakes. Anyone else tried this?
Gravity bleeding works great for me...you just have to be patient...go slow..be methodical..as mentioned, don't let the well run dry..
Oh and you can do it by yourself...no extra gear...I have used a hand vacuum pump to get it flowing..and then let it drip one bleeder at a time...there are lot's of opinions on the wheel order...I started with the furthest out..(RR) and worked in.
Thanks guys. I will have to try it next time I bleed my brakes. Cant see buying the vac bleeder, as I probably only bleed brakes what, once every three or four years. But thanks for the suggestion.
