How do you switch bodys on Corvettes.
I got a 76 Corvette and Im looking into buying a 68 modified shell. Can you swap the 68 shell onto a 76 frame and transplant all the internals including electrical and interior??? and do you need a body lift or can like 10 of your friends just move the shell around.

With a torch and a welder you could make a 68 body fit a 76 frame. You will need the 68 frame to cut up for parts and a pattern, both front and rear will need lots of work. I would find a 69 birdcage and frame to start the project and spend my time on the engine and suspension.

Umm...the basic frame should be pretty much the same. The bumper mounts are definately going to be different, and there are a few odd differences here and there, but it shouldn't be too hard.

10 friends or even six will not work out because you need to shim the body to the frame. This entails lifting and lowering the body several times. Be smart and get a lift strap. It will help with minimal body flex during the process.
