Default Model Differences 68-70

What are the primary differences between these models? Ive seen advertisement for 70 models with flip lights and without like these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/S-MAT...ayphotohosting

I'm looking into buying one in the future and wanted to know the differences between these years.

68 had some cooling and build quality issues. 327 motor was also the starting small block. different type door handles..pushbutton outside
69 was much improved. Flush door handles Small block was 350 to start. All types of 427's available
70 wheel wells were flared out to prevent chips from rocks etc. Box tips on the exhaust vs round tips on 68/69. Side gills now have a criscross pattern. Interior improvments and big block grew to 454. &0 was a short build year due to the GM strike so there were fewer cars built
71 was very similar style except hrsepower ratings dropped a bit due to lower compression ratios to accomodate unleaded fuel. Last yr for fiberoptics.

Hope this helps!!!!

GranSport your good!

'68 last year for wood grain steering wheel and it was about an inch larger in diameter.

'68 door trim panels were one year only. They were thicker at the top than '69 and later and they make the interior feel smaller.

'68 front marker lights were clear, '69 were amber.

I got the steering wheel already

They were 18 inch in '68 (wood-like) and 16 inch thereafter.. (until '75)
Door panels were different each year from '68 - '70
Missed the color thing on the side marker lamps! Good catch!

I think the 68 steering wheel is 16*, not 18 and all others are 15".

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. Helps out a lot in making my decision. Check out the headlights on the car below. I haven't seen anything like that so far on other models of the same year. Is that like a kit you can do to it or a factory option or something?

Just thought about another difference.

'68 headlamp bezels were metal. Don't know about '69 but I believe that they were fiberglass in '70

Wow, that's a high mileage vette!

And the first auction, the 69 vette, note that it has the 70-72 style rocker mouldings, not the black/silver ones used in 68/69.
