Hello everyone, I just had my transmission rebuilt in January of 2006 by a local transmission guy here in Eagle Pass, TX. Well prior to having my transmission rebuilt, I would noticed on several ocassions pools of transmission fluid underneath my passenger side just behind the front passenger wheel. Well after having the transmission rebuilt, new fluid and gasket installed, I am still seeing the pool of transmission fluid. Where the heck is it leaking from? I cant tell whether is coming from the transmission pan area, but the bolts are tight. Please help..Marty
There are O-rings to both your modulator and the dipstick tube located on the right side of the trans. I tried resealing mine (new pan gasket and front seal) and when I put it back together it was still barfing huge quantities of fluid all over my garage, as it turned out it looks like it was coming from the dipstick tube. I repaired the leak by installing a muncie M20.

I am assuming its a TH 350 or 400...
Front and rear seals (recently rebuilt so should be OK here)
Leaks come from the O ring on the dipstick (easy to fix)
Seal on the modulator ( easy to fix)
The shifter selector seal (need a special tool unless you want to spent all day)
and of couse the pan gasket. There are stories of porisity of the housing too b ut this is not too common???
My TH 400 had a selector seal leak and a dipstick leak......
best of luck
Mark

Easy fix...A bolt holds a bracket that secures the dipstick housing to the back of the transmission housing, where the housing mates up with the engine block. Remove this and the dipstick housing will come out of the port in the housing. Replace the O ring and re-instal
Start the car, warm it up and check fluid levels
best of luck
