Hey everyone I have decided to stop throwing money at my steering components and this jeep box sounds pretty sweet my only concern is will it fit with my headers? I know norval cut his frame but i am not that brave or that good . so if anybody has put one on with headers please let me know if there were any probs .it will be going in a 1980 with hooker headers. Thanks corb
I believe that the jeep steering does not pose a problem with headers but we need to have someone with headers reply to be sure. I will do this swap later this year having read past posts on this subject including the header issue.

Hey Corb, You are going to be very happy with the jeep box. Here is a picture with my current headers. They are headman sidepipe style that we cut off and made shorties out of. They have the same clearence that my hooker side pipes did.
IMO the jeep box is the best mod for a c2-3. I have about 25000 miles on mine and it still brings a smile. SSS
Thanks for the reply Silverslash, very very nice pic now that i know it will fit i cant wait to get started, I am also debating going with the hydroboost also but my pockets might not be that deep Thanks again, corb
Corb,
I will probably go with the Jeep box kit. It is so easy to install. I have the facilities to modify the pitman arm, I just have to decide if I want to take the time to make the brackets, mod the pitman arm, and the couplings. Good luck with your project!

Hey Bernie, just a suggestion, Tom is resplining the pitman shaft now and so you can use your stock pitman arm. I think he is selling the complete kit for 675. and by the time you build brackets and figure out a rag joint and all the rest that 675.00 starts looking like a good deal.
By the way how are you liking your T5? I put one in after following you guys post and could not be happier. I tried 3 different tremecs and they all vibrated. Couldn't help but notice the thread earlier about how they are trying to fix the vibrations in the tremec with a new shifter. It might help but I have my doubts.

I've been following the many vibration coments also , what's a T5??
SSS,
I could not be happier with my T5. The Mustang T5 tranny does everything I need it to. It is smooth and effortless shifting. With the 3:35 first gear it jumps off the line and cruises at 2,100 RPM at 70 MPH. There is absolutely no vibration and I aligned it with the driveshaft instead of letting it sit to the right side of the tunnel the way the stock one does.
I agree for $675.00 the Jeep kit is an exceptional value. It will save a ton of work! There is so much I am planning to do this year to the car, I am just trying to gather everything I need so I can do it all at once while I have the steering out, the brake booster out and a few other things will be easier to get to.
