Default Sweet thunder DL 250

I just got a shinny new pair of sweet thunder 2 1/2in inside diameter side pipe mufflers via ups today, theyre going in in the morning, i ran open pipes for a while and put the old mufflers back in because of a noise complaint, how do these compare with regard to noise vs. open pipes, I realize they will produce substantially less noise but im curious how much less, on a side note does anyone have expirence with the Valentine One radar detector/jammer.

Let us know how the inserts work. On a side note here is a link to yet another forum, a radar detector forum!

I can tell you that they are alot louder without the stock covers on.
I ran mine for 4 months without the covers and they drew lots of attention. Once I put the stock covers on I could actually hear the radio in the car....with it turned all the way up.

Are these on side pipes? Forget it.....I had a pair of 38" pipes and fabricated them into side pipes and they were extremely loud...setting off car alarms down the road….Ha Ha… but when people look at you like an idiot rather then cool then you change your tune.
So I purchased another 14" chambered muffler per side and installed them, they only leave me deaf for a while.... These pipes were only meant for rear exhaust when you don’t care who is behind you.

If you can drive faster then the sound reverberates off your ear then you’re doing just fine.

A very experienced customer,
Jim

good link baja216, it looks like ive got a good bit of reading ahead of me, as for the noise of the side pipes, i really dont care so long as its legal and i cannot get a noise polution ticket.

The Valentine One radar detector is top notch, worth ever dollar. I don't know anything about them offering a jammer. In order for a jammer to actually work it would be illegal to operate so don't waste your money.

I just put these in my 4" Hooker Sidepipes. This morning I drove it for the first time with them in. The only comparrison I have is with the Hooker Glasspacs. The Sweet Thunders are alot louder and alot less restrictive. The car sounds like a beast. This morning I was coming through town and saw a guy walking down the sidewalk with his back turned to me. So I dropped it down into 1st and got in the gas a little. The guy threw his arms up in front of his face like a Mack Truck was about to plow over him and he ran the other way. I'm still laughing about it right now. I don't know how long I'll leave these on my car though. They may get me in trouble with the neighborhood, the wife, and they are definately not appropriate for driving out to the golf course (which I really don't care about). IMO, they are awesome.

i put em in a couple days ago and while they are not as loud as open pipes they are pretty damned loud, im sure the neighbors apperciate it when i come home at 2:30am and run through the gears going up my street, the problem ive found with them is that i want to ride around at wot all the time to hear the engine roar, this is bad cause i fill up at the air port, 100LL, its a little more ($1 per gallon more) than premium pump gas but the car runs better according to my butt meter. In addition I do notice a slight improvement in mpg.
