I'm replacing my interior with all new corvette america parts and they don't seem to fit properly. I am not sure if its the parts or if the car is tweaked. When I put on the drivers side lower dash panel it pulls the dash pad away from the firewall to the edge of the clips. The screw holes for the rear quarter panels dont line up with the existing clips, etc. Is this normal?
Today's quality control just plain sucks. You have bought from the primary manufacturer/supplier. The lower dash is a difficult install, but they do fit. Some holes may be a little off.
I spent 3 months returning lower dash pads and still could not get one to fit. I ended up reskinnig mine. The fit and finish of aftermarket parts does just suck............

Reskinning ? By you had a interior guy cover all your old pieces? with the same color?
I have thought about redoing my interior in Red... but I feel that it would be to MUCH trouble...
Best fit and quality for interior parts for Corvettes come from Al Knoch.
They are the best in the business, Period!
I've seen thread after thread of fit and quality issues from pretty much almost every other vendor but rarely have ever seen any complaints about the AK product. I've seen some good feedback on Wilcox also although I've never used them - I stick with the tired and true AK.
Wilcox sells the corvette america stuff. Nice folks to deal with but I am a little frustrated with trying to install pieces that don't fit. I wasn't sure if it was the new parts or if I had somehow twisted the birdcage while doing the frame off.
AL Knocks C-3 door panels are very hard to fit most of the time. The lock needs moved on most cars. Corvette america is better on door panels most of the time. I don't know if it is the cars or the panels that change to make some doors take one hour and others six hours to make a new pannel fit.

I replaced both of my 69 door panels with Al Knoch units and they did not drop right in. I spent a lot of time trying to get the lock mechanism to align with the hole in the door. My car does not have power windows so I had to cut the holes for the crank. Not a terrible job, but for the price, it would have been nice if they had been done in advance by AK. Also, as my car has a black interior, I found streaks of white on the cloth part of the doors. They told me to dye them myself. I was a bit dissapointed after all I had read about AK quality.
BTW, their rugs (front and back) were very good. Hit or miss....
I've only done door panels - which I got from Wilcox (Corvette america) - they slipped right in and fit perfectly...I've never had the misfortune to have to do a dash thankfully.
Like almost all restoration parts - i think its probably hit and miss...
The rugs they sell are the same for 4speed and automatic but on the pasenger side the bodies are not so the fit is not the best but they don't want to deal with different carpet sets. It dosen't suprise me your Corvette amercia door panels fit with little adjustment.
