I would like to put keyless entry and a sercurity system on my 1977.Has anyone done this?If someone has, can they tell me step by step on how to install it and what to buy.
Try looking at a Viper 791. My mechanic found a shop to do the work and they did an awesome job. I really like walking up to the car and just pressing a button to lock and unlock the car. Also the alarm pages me within 0.5 miles if somebody is tampering with my car so I can rest a little easier while I am out enjoying it and not have to have an eye on it every second.
I need to know what kind of alarm system ,and all the other parts, with part numbers to buy to fit my car,and where to buy them. Also how to wire it up by steps.Don't want to spend a lot of money.

I'd like to marry Stacy Keibler and own a continent…preferably Australia, and have a car lift
I didn't look at the searched topics posted above but I would guess this would intail some custom fabrication on a vette. Its a gamble that our stock setup doors or battery will function on a good day, to base your only access to the car on a little remote would make my stomach uneasy. I would put in a lot of research on this matter (do a search on this forum for any little word that might lead you to some info) or find a really really good mechanic/electrician to do the work...and get a warrantee.
Good luck, cool idea
In my 73 I used actuators and switches from a 91 cavalier. The switches are mounted on either side of the console. I haven't installed the alarm with the keyless yet.

I installed sound systems and alarms as a teenager. I'm trying not to sound rude, but if you have to ask the above questions, this project is well over your abilities.

You should now what you want first. Then search for your answers. Step by step instructions are why installers get paid.

Instructions come with the kit but you will have to do some custom fabrication to fit to a c3 vette...you must judge your skills, sounds like you consult and shop around for some reputable electronics car audio shop and see what they say.
I like that control unit. Price is right too. But, If you don't already have electric locks, you might want to use stock type vette ones and all the rods and such. Less fab'ing that way, but probably more expensive.
If you already have electic locks, then it's a matter of wiring the power into the lock switch powered by the control unit. The worst part might just be getting a battery hot wire into the door, or the control lines if the control is mounted elsewhere. For the skilled this could be an nice little project. Makes me want to clean up my old lock actuators and put them back in the car.
I did this for my 73 and love it.
It probably cost about 50-60 bucks.
Bought this from ebay for <20
Bought 2 of these online for <20
and hooked them to here. No cost, just labor.
My inside locks still work and I can open the door with a key, should anything fail.
The system will take an alarm, but I could not get it to work with the stock alarm system and figured I was good with just the locks. I can still set the stock alarm manually.
