How the @!#%$! do I mount these Autometer gauges
ok, I understand that autometer makes these gauges for universal applications but this is crazy. I'm mounting the phantoms in my 76' and none of the mounts holes line up, and the gauges are about 1" longer. Any suggestions on how I can mount these. I bought a piece of Lexan. I'm thinking of making a custom back retaining plate for them. Anyone else done this and have experience? Give me some advice. I don't know what will work
Every person who has installed aftermarket guages in their vette has said that they had to modify the mounts, keep this post near the top and by the end of the day you will catch one of them or try searching for the threads under the search option.
Are you trying to install them into the fatory positions?
I dont understand what you mean by mount holes not lining up - there are no mount holes
in a corvette for them - if you are tying to install them into the factory position there is a
fair amount of fabrication required to make it fit.
I installed phantoms into the factory positions on my 78
I set up a page with instructions which can be found here....

Sorry not much help

Nevermind. I have made a Lexan piece to mount them on the back. I like how you did the wood on your dash. Was that a kit or was it custom made? It looks nice with the gauges mounted flush on top of the wood. :D
Fauxrs,
I went to your web site link. It says "Dial A for Autometer" And there's nothing underneith that. What's going on? I can't see any writing. It's all black.

I just tried it myself and had the same problem - there seems to be a broken inmage in the forum headerbar - very confusing - will have to consult higher ups as to what is wrong.
