I went to autozone and they gave me a regular although heavy duty plain jane gear puller. Bent the heck out of the pulley and had to order a new one. Make sure you get power steering pump pulley puller, its made especially for that one application.

It depends upon the year of your C3 Corvette. From 1968 through 1974the pulley was retained by a nut and there was a key in the pump driveshaft and the pulley. The pump driveshaft has a male 9/16-18 UNF thread on the end with a nut.
In 1975 all GM pumps were changed to an interference fit pulley and driveshaft. The driveshaft is usually flush with the end of the pulley hub. The end of the pump driveshaft is hollow. You can see internal splines on the end and a 3/8-16 UNC internal thread.
You must use the special puller that engages the groove on the hub and pushes against the end of the driveshaft. DO NOT use a puller that grabs the outside edge of the pulley. You will bend the pulley and destroy it. Be sure to use the correct puller.
You also must use the special installation tool. It will fit into the end of the pump driveshaft and screw into the 3/8-16 internal thread. It will then draw the pulley onto the driveshaft. DO NOT try and press directly on the pump driveshaft to install the pulley. You will break parts inside the pump. Be sure to use the correct installation tool.
I have a 75 thats probably why it's bent. Are these tools available at the zone or napa? Thanks for the info by the way.
I have a 79 and got the tool from Autozone, again make sure its the right one. It comes in a kit which also contains a pulley installation tool that as Jim Shea so accurately describes you'll definitley need. It's a 5 minute off and 3 min on procedure. Cost 30 or 40 bucks to rent the tool but you get that back when you return it. If your pulley is shot go to a local gm or chevy dealer, the part is still available and in my case they got it for me overnite, didnt have to wait the normal 3-4 days when ordered from one of the vette vendors. I just did mine a few months ago and bent the pulley using the wrong tool :{ .
