Is the alternator putting out enough current? You may want to check that.

I checked the battery this weekend and yes it is good I will check out the alternator this weekend , by the way I see that there are a couple of ways to buy alternators. I see a 70 amp and a 55 amp can they be swaped does it matter which one you use?

I would also check your battery cables at both ends and clean w/ a wire brush if necessary.

Dim is that I can see the gages but they are not as bright as they should be with the dimmer switch turned all the way up. I put a new battery and a new dimmer switch in. I also check the cables and they are clean .

I bought new bulbs and put them in also.........

First thing I would do is remove 7.5 inst.pnl.lps. fuse and clean its contacts and the end of the fuse-all the illumination lights goes thru it.
Second I would check the ground for the instument panel-its on the left pillar post above courtesy light
Third-this is to check my second point-run a wire to ground side of battery and take other end and scratch around on bottom of speedo or tach case just to make sure its grounded
Fourth--(And naturally watch dash lights to see if any of this makes them brighter)
I hope this helps if it doesnt I have a couple other things to try.
