You guys have humbled (and motivated) me into doing this job myself. Please feel free to give me some time saving tips and/or lessons learned before I tackle this job. I already have the driver's sideparking brake parts removed. That darn rear shoe retainer pin can't be removed without removing the wheel hub (yikes!) so I need some good recommendations for all or links to sites that have instructions! Pleeaaaaaaaasssssssssee!

S'only $200.00 to have a pro do it.
Maybe it's worth it...
Hi Rick,
Just did mine over the weekend.
I did not change the pins you mentioned.(they were in good shape)
Lightly compressed springs in vice and tied them with 2 pieces of light twine 180 degrees apart.
Cut twine free with a thin e-xacto knife and pulled out remnants with
needle nose after install.

Ok, I used dental floss for the springs under the cups and burnt the stuff off when in place. The retainer pin I think you're talking about, .. can be cut off with a cut off tool. Then the new piece can be put in and the pin driven through it, which is held with a clip. I think.... Its been a little while, but I did the whole thing in a weekend. The first side took me a long time ... the second maybe an hour. Its just tricky. A few good long tools, i.e. screwdriver and picks help. The local vette shop actually refuses to do the job with the hub on. I have offered up my services to them on a case by case basis... smart ***, they think!
