Default Map Light Installation

I just purchased a 75 and wanted to replace the map light under the rear view mirror. I can't figure out how to change the bulb with such a small space? Any suggestions? Thanks

remove the clear lense and the bulb and light assembly will pull out of the mirror housing.

I just replaced my light bulb on my 76 this past Sunday. I couldn't get my fingers on the bulb either. I took my mirror off so I could see everything on the inside. First I removed clear lens from mirror. It pulled out from the light switch. Then I removed light switch assemby. Pinch it together at the center of the opening and pull out. The switch handle and the copper retaining mechanism should pull out together. Then remove the light from the retainer. I bought bulbs at Advance Auto, Sylvania 561, 2 pack for $2.48. I hope this helps. Gary

Is it hard to remove the clear lens? Mine has some black dots appearing in the lens....was thinking about changing it out.

No, it was not hard to remove the clear plastic lens, I used a very small flat screw drivers to pry it loose.
