Default Sticking throttle

I was running my vehicle at idle. When I go to WOT (like the way the MAD chambered system sounds especially when if it winds down smoothly like it's supposed to) The engine winds down but sticks at 2000 rpm. I tap on the pedal and it then settles down to normal idle speed. The carb I have is an Edel 1406 carb. The throttle returns back to the closed position, but the engine does not wind down completely. What could this be? I was wondering if the accelerator cable (stock) is too long. Help please. It is very annoying that the engine does not wind down to normal idle as it should.

When mine was sticking the linkage was catching on the air cleaner lid. Tapping the gas pedal would usually unstick it. Whenever I checked to see what was going on I would remove the air cleaner lid so I didn't see what was going on. Really simple, really stupid, just took someone else to look underneath and point out the marks underneath the air cleaner lid where the linkage was scraping. probably not your problem.

Try doubling up on the accelerator return springs and see if that helps.
