On the hooker website there is no reference to d-port, but if it is a small block they will not fit angle plugs. However, if it is a big block then your in luck. Here is the link:
I installed Hooker side mounts on my 69 small block which has an early version of Chevy's angle plug heads. The interference problem is at the #2 cylinder and requires the use of a modified spark plug socket. I use a five sided socket that has had the hex end shortened. You then place an open end wrench on it. This is the reason why Hooker lists them as wont fit angle plug heads.
A normal spark plug socket is fully enclosed, hex shaped 6 sides, and requires you to slip the socket over the end of the plug. One of the sides is removed enabling you to slide the socket sideways over the plug since there is insufficient clearance to slip a normal socket over the end of the plug.
In most catalogs it says that they don't fit angle plug heads.
With shorty plugs and an extension between the spark plug and the wire boot it might fit.
What heads do you plan to run? I had no problems with the Sportsman II heads, but had to "massage" a tube on the passenger side for my AFR210's to work. The AFR's also raised the headers up so they are much tighter to the bottom of the frame than with the Sportsman II also.
