Default Radiator seals

I put in a Dewitts aluminum radiator and dual Spals, and everything seems to be steady at 190* now, but I didn't have much of the old seals left when I got done. The problem is, I don't know what all I need to put back in there. Ecklers has a few different choices ranging from $20-$40, some with fan shroud seals and other things I'm not sure I need. I don't want to end up paying twice as much for stuff I won't use, but I want to make sure I've got everything I need. Can some one point me in the right direction? Here's what I've found:

This one looked like it had some of the same stuff as the other two, but it's also got the A-arm shields that I'm also missing. Again confusion.

Well the 3rd one you listed is the engine seal kit and not the radiator seals so not sure if thats really what you need if you are missing the radiator seals. I just replaced the radiator seals on my 76 tonight and I bought the 2nd one you had listed. It is slightly different for my year, but thats the one that I got from Ecklers as well. I also needed to replace the wheel well skirts on mine so I ended up buy them each separate for $6.99 each and then got the 2nd kit you listed as well. It ended up being exactly all I needed to replace the upper seals on the radiator. I have not attached the skirts yet, but that is scheduled for later tonight.

Vettes On The Rockies starts tomorrow so I got to get everything ready on the car.

That's good to hear, 'cause I just ordered the second one and the A-arm shields, same as you. Eureka Springs is coming up in October. Gotta get everything in working order.

Something else I saw while tooling around Zip... Is this also important for a good seal?

Most of my upper mount was still there so I did not replace that. On my 76 I would say it is fairly important as I have the Twin-Turbo hood and it sits a bit high and there is a decent gap between the top of the radiator and the hood so those seals are faily important. If the gap between your hood and the radiator is less than 1 inch or so, you are probably fine. With my hood there is a pretty large gap that those seals do fill. If mine were not there already, I would have replaced them.

I suspect I'm missing a goodly portion of mine.

I do not know what was stock for your year, but it does definately looks like you are missing almost all of your upper hood/radiator mount seals.

I read your other post.....so with your new fans and radiator it seems like you are running pretty good on the temp. After you put in the radiator seals, you will probably run a little cooler at the higher speeds. You might not even need to worry about the upper seals.

P.S. - The wheel well skirts went in real easy and the Ecklers ones fit perfect.
