Default Power break conversion

I'm replacing my power brake booster on my 72 and the holes don't line up with the firewall. Some of the holes are bubba-ized. How can I tell if my car originally had manual breaks? The booster that came off the car is different than the replacement. The one that came off doesn't look original.

I'm also having another problem. The pin that holds the break rod to the break pedal won't come out because it is too long and there isn't enough clearance. Has anyone else had this problem?

I've got a booster and master cylinder if you need one. Both work, but the M/C needs rebuild. I went with a hydraboost instead on my non-power brake car; much easier install and the firewall and mounts are different between the two.
