Well had the relay crap out on me twice so just got in two types of heat shields. One a generic aluminized fiberglass mat with velcro fittings and the other a polished aluminum plate that I can't figure how it goes on. Puttiing one of them or maybe both on when I get thetime so if you got either post some pics so I can see how you wraped the starter/ relay.

I had the plate on a motor once - looked great on the stand (its held on by the two tiny screws that hold on the solenoid... - you figure out how easy the install of wiring and the solenoid would be with one of these
Oh and when i put the engine in the car - the headers hit the damned thing and it had to be removed...
I bought the heat shield plate but found it wouldn't fit with my headers. I didn't know there is a shield blanket. I've never had any problems-- but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to deflect some of that heat.
