I like using the yellow paste much better but it looks like the root of the tooth is a little longer then the crown. It is center to toe which may be inherent to the gear set. I would double check the backlash, use the yellow paste and apply a load to the pinion as you rotate the ring gear by the bolts. Check my post on this there are several pattern pictures there to help you.
