I helped a buddy change out his Carb and manifold the other day and replaced his stock 75 parts with a new performer intake and Edelbrock Q-Jet OE replacement... On the old one however, there is one sure difference in that the throttle cable connects to a different location on the throttle arm... There is a hole in the new one that would line up had the stub been installed there but the stud is installed in a different hole closer to the firewall... That means he is only getting 50% throw on the gas and we need to move it to the right hole... Problem is, these studs that the cable connects to are both pressed in... What we need is a stud that either screws in or is secured with a nut on the back...
Anyone even know what this part is called and if so, anyone know a source to buy one?? Bought it all at Summit and they advised, too bad... Too small a part for them to worry about... Now am a bit lost as to where to go or what to try next...
I don't remember the part numbers, but Holley and Edlebrock both offer varius throttle cable studs and also the kickdown. If there is possibly a speed shop in your area they should be able to fix you up...
You can go out to http://www.holley.com and find the part #, they also offer a kit that has about 5 different ball/stud sizes.
