Default Getting Ready to Paint

I am wrapping things up and getting ready to send my car to get painted. The pass side door was full of filler and had rusted thru inside so I purchased better one. My question is would you go ahead and replace the door or just send it with the car to the paint shop? It has some rough edges that will need to be repaired. Also should I remove the sport mirrors or let the body shop figure it out? I spent all my money on the engine and suspension and am trying to cut as many corners as possible.

a paint job isn't really the place to cut corners. but if you can save money by doing as much of the work as you can such as hanging the door, removing all trim, etc for paint, stripping it and body work if you did the rest of the car

I'm in a hurry. I just did not want go to the trouble of putting on the door if he's just going to pull it back off. I just thought I might be saving some time and money. I just need some guidance.

In my opinion a good painter will pull the doors off the car and paint them off so he can get to the jambs and all the other intracite areas.

That was my thinking also. I think I will just carry it to him in the back of my truck.

i agree that a good painter will take the doors off, but all panels need to be fitted to the car before paint to check gaps
