I used to have the same problem, and apparently it's very common. The screw driver trick always works, but anyway... the problem is basically heat. If you wait 15 minutes or so the car should start right up. There are many possible solutions. The cheapest solution would be to try one of those blankets you wrap around the starter, to protect it against the heat. You can get them from Jeg's or Summit. Or you could replace the solenoid, or install a remote solenoid. Finally, you could replace the starter. I replaced mine by a mini starter, the kind used on late model trucks with a 454 engine, and it works like a champ!

Hope this helps some...

-Pedro

I agree it's probably the heat, but I'd say the remote solinoid is the cheaper solution. A Ford solinoid will cost you $6-7 & the jumper wire and a cable to run between the remote solinoid and the old solinoid should cost more that $7 or $8. The blankets you can buy through Ecklers & Zips run (if I remember right) $30. A remote solinoid completely cured my hot start problem.
