Default Square port intake hood clearance
Does anyone know which square port intakes will clear a stock BB '71 hood. Thanks, Jim.

The LS6 "pancake" will and the old Torker II will (I believe they offered a rectangle port). Choices are VERY limited, thus why you see so many aftermarket hoods.

I also have a 71 BB with the factory hood,and i am using a Edelbrock Performer with a drop base air cleaner and a 2.5 air filter.

Default Oval port or square?
John, does your car have square port heads? Corey, is the LS6 pancake the only oem intake or was there several versions from GM? Thanks, Jim.

Yes the LS6 was the only factory square port to fit outside of the tri power setup. These intakes give up alot of power to a high rise though.
