I thought I had my backup lights hooked up right until I noticed they are on all the time! I know the switch works fine because if I remove the rod and manually adjust the switch the lights will shut off.
Is it just the positiong of the switch that is messing me up?

I did the switch adjustment using a multimeter. Select reverse and do a conductivity test across the terminals (you may have disconnect the wire from the switch) then adjust the switch position until you just get conductivity. The problem I found was that the control rod from the reverse linkage to the switch only produces a small amount of movement so its very fine line between the switch being opened or closed.
