MY heater core went on 1979 vette. i know its a big job . Can anyone tell me approximate cost of having it installed. I know alot of labor is needed. can anyone tell me of good mechanic in ocean county new jersey.
Hey, I have an 80 Vette that will have the motor out next week while installing a new crate motor. I think I will replace my heater core as it is still the original. Yes, we are having 90+ degree weather but anyone would know that you dont wait until you have a floor covered in anti freeze before you replace a 27 year old core! It is just smart thinking. Its like cutting your fire wood at the beginning of summer and not waiting for 2 feet of snow in the dead of winter and sub freezing weather!
I plan to replace mine myself as I will have almost noithing in the way.
peace brother!

Great link! Thanks. Once I finish the motor, Ill get started on the inside as I also plan new carpet and seats on my 80. I have the bug and feel the need to give my baby some attention
I agree with others above. Labor rates will kill you on this one. Take it slow, follow the instructions found on the forum and you'll be done in no time.
