I have an 80 coupe,350 motor, the car runs great, but when I stop at a light or stop sign ,the idle stays high and gradually comes back to normal after about 15-30 seconds.I rebuilt the carb(Q-Jet) , is this a possible choke setting problem or something else, again the car runs great until you stop.Any thoughts?
Lubricate all the carb/throttle linkage
I know a stronger return spring will fix it but this shouldnt be necessary
This has been a common problem for me no matter which QJet I am running....Sometimes it wont act up for weeks and then it just appears...
Also, make sure your air cleaner is not interfering with any of the linkage.
I have found that newly bushed primary throttle shafts need to be lubricated a few times before they act correctly
