real wheel locked up

real wheel locked up

Hey My wife's jeep broke down, so I had to take the vette to pick her up. But the rear right wheel just drags along the ground, i can put it in reverse and its fine. Any thoughts on how I can fix it?

sounds like the emergency brake .

Yup, I agree. The exact same thing happend to me. My E-Brake was siezed

and also happened to me on my dually. Turned out to be a rusted e-brake cable.

If that is the emergency brake then thats one bad *** emergency brake.I've always refered to these as barely a parking brake for flat ground only.In no way for emergencys!!! Ok that said I cant imagine it dragging the wheel unless it has been sitting in water and now it is somehow frozen to the drum.I have had bad bearings drag a wheel.I had one that the parts fell out of the emergency brake and locked it both ways.I had one that the caliper pad was worn at such an angle it would lock for an instant but not drag wheel.I had one that the diff. side gear broke and locked the wheel.I had one that the pin in the diff. between the side yokes slid out and sent this guy into a death spiral on the interstate while it was raining--he left a small deposit in his seat as a result of the spin!!!

OK thats all my lockups-I'll shutup now
