Hi, I am new to the C-3 board.
I just got my wife an 82 Collectors Edition so she can cruise with me. She doesn't drive a stick.
The engine was running poorly and I found it needs the IAC motors.
My question is where is the data link connector under the dash? I have an OTC monitor but I don't have a manual yet on the car and I cannot find the connector.
Thanks, Joe
i have a 82 aloe, and yes to connect to the computer or ecm its under the ash dray.......mine is not runing to good either rigth now, i had it for 3 years, no problums untill now.....so far a leaking intake manifold and still searching.........
or behind it you might have to take the left pannel off to get to it.
my frends ce was running bad to, first he find that all the bolts for all the throttle body stuff was lose that made it run better .then he change the stock electric fuel pump in the gas tank with new stock one from bumber to bumber auto parts and that mad it run like it never ran before.his as 34000 miles on it.the stock fuel pumps dont work good for long you need 12 to 13 ponds psi for it to work good his was down to 7 ponds.there are some more things to check go to the gross fire forum.
Its definitley under the ashtray. Once you replace the IAC's you'll need to pull the fuse by the computer (near battery) to reset it and then drive for about 3 miles at 30 mph to reseat the IAC's.
