Yup, you have a 168 tooth flexplate. Cannot recall which engines used the 153 tooth flexplate. Will check sbc interchange manual. Someone will probably have an answer for you before I will.

All the 327's use the smaller flywheel. The 350's are mixed but many use the larger flywheel. Bigger engines than that use the bigger flywheel but there are some rare SHP exceptions where big blocks are hooked up to smaller flywheels. You can not mix and match big bellhousings and small flywheels and starters. They all must match.

There are some screwy big flywheels out there with a small clutch bolt pattern out there. They were used back in the early 60's. Not that you will see them often but they are out there. Aftermarket stuff can be bought with both bolt patterns but you will need the bigger bellhousing and matching starter. Brace is different too.

thanks. i'm getting a new gear reduction starter. stock starter has the typical "stagger" mount but small blocks have dual mounting bolt pattern and i've been told its better to use the mini starters with the in line mounting pattern because the starter can be made slightly shorter thus moving it a little further away from the headers. thoughts?

With the 168 tooth you need the staggered bolt starter which is still available. You should be able to use unless you have a space issue with headers or??

i have a 621 bellhousing and i can't get the starter into the space where it should go. i do not have enough space between the bellhousing and the flyweel, with a standard starter
