Default Control Arm Installation

I am overhauling the rear and front suspension on a 78 Silver Aniversary Edition. Rear Trailing arms are on the car, and look good, but need alignment.
Front control arms upper and lowers have new poly bushing and ball joints. The shop that perfomed the bushing swap did not torque the cross shaft end bolts. Can someone tell me the best way to complete the cross shaft bolts with torque specs? When do you tighten them, with the weight of the car on the ground or not?
I am most concerned about the bolts backing out and falling out over time do to the constant motion.

I do read the threads in this forum and find them most helpful.

Start with the cross shaft end bolts loose, then with the car sitting on the ground (normal ride height) tighten the cross shaft bolts to 60 lb-ft.

Just what Duke said - but before you tighten the bolts on the bushings, bounce the car up and down to center them.

With poly bushings you shouldn't need to worry about the car being on the ground. They rotate, unlike rubber bushings. That said, it certainly won't hurt anything to go ahead and set it down first.

If you still have the original 28 year old rubber bushings in your strut rods and T/As, you REALLY need to change them. At this point the rubber is probably deteriorated enough that an alignment won't hold.
