75 Ride Height
I am replacing the rear spring on my 75. I need to know what the ride height of the car is supposed to be like it came from the factory. Right now when I go over any major bumps, the exhaust hits the ground. That is why I am replacing the rear spring with a new steel spring. I think the old spring has weakened over the years causing this problem and the rear end to appear a little too low.

Have you considered upgrading to a mono-leaf rear spring? I know they're a bit pricey but since you're changing why not step up huh?

Not a fan of a the single spring concept. I know they are lighter but I can't bring myself to use just one spring.
Durango, where are you in MO?

At the frame, 24 inches forward of the rear axle centerline, the height should be 8.43 inches for the standard spring or 8.05 inches for the FE7 spring. That is with tires properly inflated and a full tank of gas.

Some people remove the spare tire and carrier...if that's true you're overall height may be a tad higher than that.

I know a little about Columbia. I have a sister-in-law in Columbia. I had my 05 Mustang GT in the Bass Pro Mustang show a few months ago. Check out the Great Lakes section. There is a car show in Hermann on 9/10. Come on by if you have time. I live in Rhineland which is on 94.
