Is the Muncie M-21 from a 69 the same as for a 72 LT-1? I have one from a 69 that I was going to swap into my 72 and the output shaft on my 72 is larger. Is this normal or has there been some changing of output shaft on one of them?

Just went through this. It is normal. The muncie went from a 10 spline input and a 27 spline output to a 26 spline input and a 32 spline output in 1970. Other than that they are the same. It will work. you need a 10 spline clutch disc and a turbo 350 yoke. If you change them out I have a 11" Clutch setup complete, balanced, All GM, NEW 10 spline disc, newly rebuilt Pressure plate, Resurfaced flywheel and new throwout bearing. Will sell all for $200 plus shipping. The turbo 350 yokes are common.
1969 and up take bolt on shifter shafts. However depending on the shifter, the bolt pattern where the shifter mount plate goes is different on a 32 spline tail as well.
