Alum Calipers - Experience?

I recently installed Wilwoods (Telledega fronts, Blackhawk rears) from Corvette Engineering on my 71 with PS Engineering 17" Halibrand repros. These wheels are similar in appearance to the wheels used on the C2 Gran Sports.
With the OE calipers, I had about 1/8" clearance between the calipers and the rear of the spokes of the wheels. With the Telledegas on the front, I now have about 3/8" clearance and with the Blackhawks on the rear I now have about 3/4" clearance.
No guarantee that you will have the same results.

Corvette Engineerings Laguna kit uses Wilwood Narrow Dynalite calipers which have lots of clearance.
They actually sit below flush as compared to the surface of the hub rather than sticking way out like stock calipers.
They are what's behind the Craigers in C3 Strokers wheels.

I have SSBC aluminum calipers and they are MUCH MUCH better than stock. I have had some problems with leak on one caliper, but they didn't leak so bad as to trip the warning light only give uneven braking force.
SSBC also fixed the problem caliper twice at no charge except for shipping charges to them.
I didn't like that they don't (or didn't) offer a stainless rear brake line.

I bought my ss brake lines from InLine Tube (Michigan) and returned the standard ss rear brake lines to them. They modified them, per my instructions, to fit the SSBC rear calipers exactly. Very reasonable small fee.
On the stock iron calipers, the brass 90 degree brake line coupling block faces backwards and the stock brake lines make a 180 degree loop to attach. I rotated my brass coupling and had it face forward and had the ss brake lines shortened to directly into the block.
