I was trying to find an easy way to make some louvers in a piece of sheet metal that I have on my radiator housing. I tried dressing the area up a little and I think if I put some louvers in it, it should help keep it a little cooler.
I thought maybe someone here might know how or a site to go to for a "Making louvers for dummies"
This link will show you how, but it isn't easy. http://www.discoverlivesteam.com/magazine/25.html
I remember a buddy making a simple tool to cut louvers in aluminum. He pre-cut the metal where each louver went and his tool flared it out.
If you have deep pockets this is the way to go http://vansantent.com/sheet_metal_ma...uver_press.htm
Ask around at some of the hot rod shows. Somebody in your area must have a louver press, but I hear they are pricey to make.
I it was me I'd go walk around the heating/ventilation section at Home Depot or Lowes, there might be a small louvered vent that'll be exactly what you need, or close enough that you could make it work.
But hey, that's just me, I'm cheap and MacGuyverish all the time
