Drivers side mirror placement
New door skin installed and i want to put the stock mirror back on the car. I have an assembly manual for the 1972 but it doesn't give location just generic picture, i've tried searching the net with no luck
. Someone out there has got to know!
How far from the end of the door to the beginning of the mirror bracket? How far down from the top of the door or how far from the bottom of the door to the bracket?
I want to do it right the first time!

I just removed the mirror from my '71 to measure it up. The screw holes are 1-3/8 inch below the molded edge leading to the upper door moulding. To clarify, the molded edge is NOT the edge of the moulding but on the door next to the moulding (I think that is a more accurate place to measure from). The rearward mounting hole is 22-3/4 inch from the front edge of the chrome door latch housing. Hope that gives you what you need.
