I heard this speculation yesterday shortly after the attacks. Yes, I filled my tank at lunch.
Here in Salt Lake City, Utah most stations are 1.48 for low grade and .10 a gallon higher for each step up in octane. I know of one station near the office that is selling gas for 1.27 gal. That's the only place I saw a line yesterday. This morning on the way into work prices were the same as last night.
I wonder how much the price will escalate just because of panic buying and the resulting long lines? Sure stations will run out of supplies if everyone runs out and fills up their tanks and extra gas cans. Then because of the short term shortage, prices will go sky high. Will the prices come back down when people stop buying because their tanks and extra cans are all full?
I'm not too worried about the temporary fluctuations in gas prices. Once we bomb the cr*p out of those fargin sand fleas...we wont have to worry about gas. We'll own 'em. JMO :mad
The station I stopped at in North Versailles, rte.30 last night & paid $1.479 for hi-test was $1.599 today(filled the Vette); 3/4 mile away - today - 93 octane was still $1.479 @ Sunoco...filled Donna's "PinkLinc" up.
